You can say what you want about cultural anthropologists. As a species they can have the most esoteric of interests. In the case of The Slaw and the Slow Cooked, I think your intellectual and gustatory organs of taste will thank you for welcoming the work of these anthropologists into your home. It's an edited volume, so it's going to give you a smattering [is that a 'cueing term?] of Memphis and other barbecue cultures, and no doubt they examine the fierce monomania that accompanies the local and regional variants of the barbecue phenomenon across the middle south. I haven't read it. I haven't even smelled it. But I have a feeling that it'd be a very satisfying ethnographic feast!
